Delightful location, warm welcome

Hotel-level service at a self-catering property. Everything has been thought of to make your stay comfortable and memorable. The location is fantastic. Hosts Lauraine and Simon are on site and very welcoming. Very special garden for BBQ meals and watching the sun set, and walking distance to the village pub and shop – Valerie

Beautiful house and grounds

The apartment is in a beautiful house in lovely grounds and the hot tub is a great feature for guests. The apartment is very clean and well equipped. Bedrooms are large and very comfortable with good en suites. The location is very quiet – perfect if you want to escape the crowds, but well placed to drive to attractions nearby. Hosts Simon and Lauraine are lovely and welcoming – Michael

Excellent stay

Our stay at Penmachno Hall was amazing and we couldn’t have asked for anything more. Simon and Lauraine were extremely welcoming. The rooms we were staying in were nicely furnished and accompanied by a range of movies and books to entertain yourselves with. The house had a wonderful view of the fields outside. It’s a great property and we would stay there again. To top it all, we were able to laze in the hot tub after our long hike up Snowdon – Guru

Feeling like a country gentleman

The house is very cosy, the hosts are very friendly, generous and welcoming, the furniture is spectacular, huge space and great facilities. Splendid for families, we got virtually the whole floor and the garden for ourselves, with an old-style apartment for the parents (with bath instead of shower) and a newer-style room and shower for the children – Dan

Fantastic stay!

Lovely Coach House with very comfy beds, well-equipped kitchen with absolutely everything you might need, spotlessly clean with a lovely homely feel. Two lovely outside seating areas to catch the morning or evening sunshine and the hot tub was an added bonus. Great value for money, fantastic picturesque walks from the door, smashing pub in the village and our hosts couldn’t have been more warm and friendly. Highly recommended – Simon

Beautiful place with lovely, helpful hosts

The location was ideal in the small village of Penmachno. We drove to Betws-y-Coed for evening meals and that suited us. The owners are lovely and very helpful with suggestions of local places to eat, drink and visit – they even helped with mapping out routes and daily weather updates. Highly recommended for those who like being in a peaceful location but fairly close to lots of action. We will be back – Martin

We loved the location as it was easy to get to the many attractions in the area. Lauraine and Simon were absolutely lovely and made everything very comfy – Frere

Fantastic gem

We stayed at the Coach House – a self-contained, self-catering cottage next to the Hall in a quiet part of the village. It is fitted out and furnished to a very high standard. A great base for Betws-y-Coed, Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways, Snowdon, Snowdon Mountain Railway, Llechwedd Slate Mines, Conwy Falls, Sparrow Falls and a reasonable drive from Llandudno and Llangollen. In short, it’s a great base for the whole of Snowdonia. My partner and I loved it so much that we’ve rebooked to go next year as well. Please don’t tell too many people – it really is THAT good and I’d hate it to be booked up when I want to go! – Kit

Great stay at Penmachno Hall

We had a lovely time at Penmachno Hall – a great place with nice owners. It is set in a nice, secluded location, but not too far from the brighter lights of Betws-y-Coed! – Ffion

Perfect for a relaxing break

This is a lovely place to stay. Hosts Simon and Lauraine could not be more pleasant and helpful and made us feel so welcome. Beautiful location ideally placed for exploring the beauty spots. Very tranquil – the only thing you are likely to hear is the sheep conversing on the hills behind the house. Very comfortable rooms and spotlessly clean. Highly recommended – Mike
