The Penmachno Trails
The Penmachno Trails are North Wales’ hidden gem of mountain biking, with 30km of single-track and scenic forest trails venturing high into the Snowdonia National Park. The trails are split into two loops, which you can tackle individually or as one huge 30km ride.
They feature in Red Bull’s hidden adventures in Snowdonia guide, and Plas y Brenin’s senior mountain biking instructor Pete Catterall told them: “It’s a purpose-built trail that’s pretty wild. It’s just out in the mountains and is really narrow singletrack – definitely one for the really diehard mountain bikers.”
Penmachno Hall is perfectly placed for accessing the trails. Just come out of our driveway, turn right and after half a mile the trailhead – a large forest track – is on the right. We also have secure bike storage facilities.
