Welsh Learning Weekends

Lauraine Awdry

Originally from Liverpool, Lauraine started learning Welsh in 1996 in order to help her children with their school work. She worked for the University of Wales in Bangor for 3 years teaching Welsh to adults as a second language.

Welsh-learning weekends at Penmachno Hall with a guest tutor include some formal learning, but the emphasis is on using Welsh in the community. Shopping trips, walks in the
countryside, meals out, and drinks in local pubs, are all fun ways to put in to practice what has been learned in the class. Courses can be booked for groups of 6, with accommodation as offered by Penmachno Hall.
